Frequently asked questions
What issues do you work with?
I work with adults navigating anxiety, stress, burnout, perfectionism, interpersonal and workplace challenges, leadership and role complexity, and periods of transition or sustained pressure. My work is particularly suited to people in professional or high-demand roles who are outwardly functioning well but experiencing strain beneath the surface.
I also provide comprehensive autism assessments for adults seeking clarity and self-understanding.
Do I need a GP referral?
A GP referral is not required to see me. If you would like to claim a Medicare rebate, you will need a current GP Mental Health Treatment Plan.
If you’re unsure about whether a referral is needed, you’re welcome to get in touch.
What can I expect in the first session?
The first session is an opportunity to talk through what’s been bringing you to therapy and what you’re hoping to get from the process. We’ll explore relevant background, current concerns, and what feels most important to focus on, and begin to develop a shared understanding of how we might work together.
The pace is collaborative and tailored to you.
How much do sessions cost?
The fee for an individual therapy session is $300 for a 50-minute appointment.
Can I claim a Medicare rebate?
Yes, if you have a current GP Mental Health Treatment Plan.
The Medicare rebate for a psychologist is $98.95 per session, for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.
Do you offer reduced fees?
A small number of places are available at a reduced fee for students and early career professionals in high-demand fields. If this applies to you, you’re welcome to mention it when you get in touch.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies depending on your goals, circumstances, and preferences. Some clients find benefit from a brief course of therapy, while others choose to work together over a longer period. This is something we can review and adjust over time.
Do you offer autism or ADHD assessments?
Yes. I offer comprehensive autism assessments for adults seeking clarity, self-understanding, and practical recommendations. ADHD traits can also be explored as part of the assessment process, through screening or more detailed assessment where appropriate.
Further information is available on the Autism Assessments page.
Can I claim a Medicare rebate for assessments?
No. Medicare rebates do not apply to autism or ADHD assessments. These assessments are provided as a private service.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Sessions are confidential, with some legal and ethical exceptions – for example, if there is a serious risk of harm to you or others. These limits to confidentiality will be explained clearly in the first session.
How do I get started?
You’re welcome to reach out by email with a brief description of what you’re looking for. I’ll respond within one business day.
